Ded Moroz and Snegurochka kicked off the New Year's celebrations in Vitebsk today

The procession of the main characters of the New Year's holiday, accompanied by a brass band, began from Freedom Square and will end at the main city Christmas tree on Victory Square. The core of the column consists of 650 Father Frosts and Snow Maidens. But this is an approximate number, because anyone can join them – the main condition is to have a suitable costume. At the main Christmas tree of the regional center, with thousands of townspeople gathered, the cheerful event "Let's Light the Christmas Tree Together" will be held, and the New Year and Christmas festivities will be launched. The first of them will take place right here. All guests of the event can expect a concert, a disco, horse and pony rides, and festive trade will be open. And the day will conclude with a grand festive fireworks display. As the organizers promise, it will be in no way inferior to the lights that light up the Vitebsk sky during the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival. -0-
