The effect of resolution No. 991 applies only to state-owned enterprises and companies with state participation - S. Sidorsky

August 4, Minsk / Lilia Krapivina - BELTA /. The decree No. 991 "On some issues of acquiring goods on the territory of Belarus" applies only to state-owned enterprises and companies with state participation. This was announced by Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky at a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers, according to a BELTA correspondent. The purpose of this document is to maximally eliminate intermediary functions in the country's economy, Sergei Sidorsky emphasized. He recalled that the President had made decisions regarding the acquisition of товарно-материальные ценности (tangible assets) outside the country through direct agreements and contracts with manufacturers. "But, unfortunately, in the conditions of the global financial crisis, many companies operating outside the country work with legal entities, of which 6.3 thousand firms are registered only in the city of Minsk, and they are not engaged in production and economic activities," the prime minister said. And they import tangible assets to state enterprises and enterprises with state ownership, including components and other materials that are used for production and economic activities. Through this channel, products worth more than $600 million have been imported into the republic over 6 months. Thus, the work of commercial and supply services of state enterprises and OAO (Open Joint-Stock Companies) with state ownership is being substituted. Sergei Sidorsky stressed that the adopted measure is designed to bring order to this area. Enterprises should be supplied with tangible assets by sales organizations that are engaged in this and receive salaries for it, the prime minister noted. -0-
