Delegations from almost 20 regions of Russia will come to the International Economic Forum in Vitebsk

Делегации почти 20 регионов России приедут на Международный экономический форум в Витебск
The X International Economic Forum "Innovations. Investments. Prospects" will be held in Vitebsk on July 15-16 with the participation of representatives from Belarus, Russia, India, and Iran. Within the framework of the forum, 8 documents of various formats on cooperation between enterprises, organizations, and universities of the Vitebsk region and partners from near and far abroad are planned for signing.

This was announced at a press conference at the regional executive committee by the organizers of the main economic event of the Vitebsk region. This year, for the first time, the territory of the FEZ "Vitebsk" has been chosen as the venue. This is one of the main growth points of the region, whose preferential regime creates favorable conditions for attracting advanced technologies and production. The central theme of the forum will be import substitution in the implementation of innovative projects. The organizers have planned the business program in such a way as to provide maximum assistance to economic entities in adapting to work under sanctions restrictions by providing expertise on emerging opportunities, searching for new cooperation models and technological solutions.

— Our task is to work through the issues of import substitution as much as possible. This was emphasized both in the selection of exhibitors and in the formation of conference topics. That is why the forum is focused on the Russian regions, although thanks to the visa-free regime with Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland, we expect guests from these countries as well. Nevertheless, our Russian partners have advanced in many areas, and we have where and from whom to acquire certain competencies, — noted Konstantin Cherny, First Deputy Chairman of the Economics Committee of the Regional Executive Committee.

According to him, today knowledge and experience of Russian infrastructure organizations (consulting, financial, logistics), agencies that oversee national or municipal projects are of particular value to the Belarusian side. Russian partners view any project (from export-import operations to investment cooperation) through the prism of dual participation (Belarus — Russia). For the Belarusian side, this is a new format of relationship, and it is important to know and understand this, emphasized Konstantin Cherny.

Panel discussions will also be organized at the forum on current topics such as modern export promotion tools, the cluster development model, and free economic zones as a basis for increasing the innovative and investment activity of entities.

For the first time, a round table for women entrepreneurs will be organized as part of the forum. Businesswomen from the Vitebsk region and partner regions of Russia will gather in this format to discuss issues of business education and subcontracting. The business program of the forum also includes thematic round tables on cooperation with Russian regions and the role of the education system in innovative development.
