By tradition, every year on the first Sunday of July, a meeting of veterans, youth, and residents of border territories is held at the Mound of Friendship, located at the junction of Belarus, Russia, and Latvia. On the eve of the event, representatives of the Vitebsk region of Belarus and the Pskov region of Russia met at this legendary place to discuss the format of the joint celebration this year.
Delegations from the Vitebsk region, led by Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, and Vera Emelyanova, First Deputy Governor of the Pskov Region, participated in the meeting at the so-called "small Mound".
The parties discussed the program of the meeting, which will be organized by Russian friends this time, agreed on the procedure for holding the event in the current epidemic situation, and expressed confidence that the traditions of the Kurgan Druzhby (Friendship Mound) will be strengthened, regardless of any external circumstances.
