A delegation from the Kursk region visited the Orsha Flax Mill
– The necessary vector was set back in the summer of last year during the meeting of our governor Roman Starovoyt with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, – noted the Deputy Governor of the Kursk region, Sergey Starodubtsev. – More than 100 agreements were signed. And this time we are "synchronizing watches" in various directions. I can say that many of the outlined tasks are already being implemented. By the way, we have about 80 branded stores with Belarusian products in our region, and they are in high demand. Many of our foreign partners are leaving our market, and now we are looking towards Belarus with great interest. As for the visit to the Orsha Flax Combine, we have big plans to create a unified textile cluster with the participation of Belarusian enterprises.
– We are conducting a dialogue with the government of the Kursk region on the development of our trade in their region, on cooperation with its enterprises, – stated the General Director of the flax combine, Vladimir Nesterenko. – Back in the summer of last year, our enterprise and the Russian company "Soyuztextile-ST" signed a memorandum of intent for cooperation at the TIbo-2022 forum. The document provides for the parties to work on a project for the implementation of import-substituting production of non-woven cotton-flax fabric "Spunlace" at the production site in Kursk. We see great prospects here, considering that this company is a city-forming enterprise in the region and has a large market reach. Moreover, in the current realities with the introduction of sanctions by unfriendly countries, it is very important to have a reliable partner. And today we attach great importance to the development of the Russian market – both the sale of finished products and deep processing of products are important.
Vladimir Nesterenko informed that after the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the Orsha Flax Mill in 2018, when the results of the previous five-year plan were summarized, the enterprise implemented 4 more major investment projects worth about 37 million rubles.
– First of all, it is the flax fiber cottonization unit, – he said. – In pursuance of the head of state's instructions, we have increased the deep processing of short flax fiber, the production volumes of marketable products, and created about 20 jobs. The second project is a workshop for bleaching cottonized fiber. This is also a stage of deep processing, as such fiber can be used in the medical industry as an alternative to the ever-increasing price of cotton for the production of medical products (cotton pads, swabs, diapers, etc.). The third stage is a garment factory with the best technical equipment in the country. Today, new clothing collections are already being developed here, and we can talk about certain successes. 2 collections of young designers, students of Vitebsk State University, sewn at the new production facility, will be presented there at the flax festival in Minsk.
The fourth project is a waste processing unit. The enterprise has over 200 tons of flax fiber waste per month, which were previously simply disposed of. Today, all solid waste is processed. We process technological production waste into regenerated fiber, from which we make yarn, and waste that is no longer subject to processing is pressed into briquettes and burned in a new boiler house, generating hot water for production needs.
