The delegation of the Vitebsk region will take part in the international exhibition "AgroRus" in St. Petersburg

The delegation of the Vitebsk region will present the Belarusian agro-industrial complex at the international agro-industrial exhibition "AgroRus-2022" in St. Petersburg, which opens on August 31. At the collective stand of the region, products from 11 enterprises of the food and processing industry, manufacturers of veterinary drugs, technologies and services for agriculture will be presented.

The "AgroRus" project is one of Russia's most important specialized agricultural events, a platform for showcasing achievements in the agro-industrial complex. This year, it will be attended by over 400 participating companies from 7 countries and 34 Russian regions. Among the main themes of the forum are import substitution and digitalization of agriculture.

According to Boris Efremov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, who will lead the delegation, the most relevant issues for Vitebsk producers are strengthening trade ties, training and experience exchange, and discussing directions for regional and production cooperation.

— Participation in the forum allows us to increase exports of products to Russian regions, including expanding our presence in the capacious market of the Leningrad region, and to achieve stable supplies. This is evidenced by the experience of OJSC "Vitebskhlebprom", which has been successfully working at the exhibition for over a decade, as confirmed by the joint-stock company's export revenue, — noted Boris Efremov. — In addition, St. Petersburg is a port city, so considering the current situation, Vitebsk producers of canned goods can take advantage of the opportunity to connect to the system of supplying food products to maritime transport.

A comprehensive business program, including the Agro-Industrial Congress, a series of industry conferences, round tables, seminars, and business consultations, provides excellent opportunities to learn about best practices and exchange knowledge and expertise with leading industry producers, the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee is confident. Representatives of the Vitebsk region will participate in the forum's plenary session, where they will present the region's experience in sustainable agricultural development and proposals for possible areas of cooperation. Plans also include visiting advanced farms in the Leningrad region specializing in livestock and crop production, and developing interaction in areas such as fodder production and seed production.

The delegation members will have another important mission – to deliver an invitation to the regional festival-fair of rural workers "Dazhynki-2022" in Glubokoye to the Governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko.
