Delegates from the Vitebsk region shared their expectations from the President's annual Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly

Representatives of the Vitebsk region have gone to Minsk to participate in the Address of the President of Belarus to the people and the National Assembly. Before leaving, we asked the participants of the meeting to share their expectations from the address.

Sergey Zemchenok, Chairman of the Liozno District Executive Committee:

– The expectations are very simple – to reaffirm the development course we are following. So that our children live in peace and better than us. When discussing the draft amendments and additions to the Constitution, I held about twenty meetings in work collectives and, first of all, recalled that when I became head of the enterprise, salaries were 20-30 dollars. A great leap forward has been made since then, and the updated Basic Law will push us towards a fruitful and evolutionary path of development.

Gennady Azarov, General Director of OJSC "Vityaz":

– A meeting with the President, information from his lips always gives a great emotional boost. Times are not easy now, so unity is needed more than ever. Industry worked very well last year, including "Vityaz". Growth has been ensured in almost all indicators. It is very important to maintain the pace, and all prerequisites for this exist. Of course, there is a difficult epidemiological and sanctions situation, but everything is in our hands.

Anna Kozlova, intern doctor at Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital, member of the Youth Parliament under the National Assembly:

– I believe this will be maximally useful and interesting. The Head of State always explains things clearly and concisely, and it is pleasant that our thoughts align with what he says. On February 27, a referendum awaits us; it is no coincidence that a specific article dedicated to youth has appeared in the Basic Law. In general, all conditions are being created in our country for the realization of the potential of this category of citizens. We are being prepared for adult life, and I hope we will be a worthy successor generation.

Valeryan Matskevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Union of War Veterans in Afghanistan:

– I am confident that this address will clearly outline the internal and external policies of our state, aimed at economic development and peaceful coexistence with countries near and far abroad. It is important that the President's address will be delivered on the eve of the referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of Belarus. I think we will once again be convinced of the firm, reliable policy of our state, and this will be an incentive to actively participate in the vote.
