Youth Day was held under a roof

The Youth Day at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival brought together an incredible number of talents. Citizens and guests of the northern capital could observe the entire gallery of youth subcultures during the parade "BelARus in my heart!", which took place along Lenin Street from the Summer Amphitheatre to Victory Square. More than five hundred young people from all regions of the country presented their hobbies: cycle trial riders, jumpers, skateboarders, rollerbladers, artists, musicians, beatboxers, dancers, hip-hop performers, participants of youth theaters, wind and instrumental orchestras, stilt walkers, bikers, and many others.

Then, the main events of Youth Day moved to Victory Square. By the way, one of the main innovations this year was that the BRSM, striving to hold the celebration in any weather, proposed to temporarily install a large tent in front of the stage. In cooperation with a construction company and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the structure with an area of 1 thousand square meters was successfully erected on time and without damaging the tile covering.

– This is the first time we are doing something like this, – emphasized Igor Buzovsky, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM. – If this option suits both the youth, the festival management, and the authorities, then a similar roof will be installed next year as well.

And nearby, representatives of various subcultures, who had nothing to fear from the rain, presented themselves at themed venues. At one, you could meet archery masters; at another, rollerblading, skateboarding, and cycling virtuosos; at a third, attend a street workout training session; at a fourth, cheer for basketball players who held a mini-tournament in the square. A large crowd of spectators gathered at the venue for breakdance, tick-tock, hip-hop, and other dance styles. Anyone could get decorated with a beautiful drawing by artist and body art master Anatoly Shchegolev that day. Or admire the creativity of other folk craftsmen, for example, wood paintings.

Of course, many wanted to take photos against the backdrop of colorful bikes, racing cars, and vintage automobiles. Moreover, this year, guests of Youth Day had a unique opportunity to see a lowrider show featuring Belarus's only dancing and singing "Chevrolet Monte Carlo" manufactured in 1975. This unusual car is equipped with a super-powerful sound system that even allows for organizing discos. The car "dances" by raising or lowering itself on one wheel, then another, or several at once.

While having fun and enjoying life, the youth do not forget those thanks to whom this is possible today. Gratitude to those who liberated our Motherland from the fascist scourge is expressed annually as part of Youth Day through the "We Remember and Are Proud!" campaign.

Participants of delegations from all regions of the country, as well as guests from Russia and Ukraine, laid flowers at the Eternal Flame near the memorial complex and honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence. Among the invited guests was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Tatyana Zabelo. In her parting words to the young people, she asked them to multiply all the good things that the older generation has preserved for them.

There was also a place for military themes among the exhibition grounds. A mobile museum exhibition was parked on Victory Square

"Museum-bus". It presents exhibits that testify to the heroism of the Belarusian people and the history of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. On the eve of the holiday, the "Museum-bus" traveled the route of the youth marathon "70!" through all regions of the country.

What kind of Youth Day without the festival

"Fire of Dance"! The winners of the regional qualifying rounds, as well as leading dance couples and creative groups of the country, winners of championships and competitions, took part in the competition program of the final. They competed in five nominations: "Show program", "Break", "Latin", "Street dance", "Eastern dance". So the program was very intense and diverse.

As the guys who went through the regional selection admitted, it is difficult for them to compete with experienced contestants and champions. But this festival offers a unique opportunity to showcase themselves, including to a professional jury. And at the same time, to learn mastery from colleagues. And simply to recharge with positivity, because when you perform, you not only expend energy, but also gain it, if, of course, you dance not only with your body, but also with your soul.

There were so many contestants that the festival lasted for several hours. And in the evening program, the best DJs in the country, according to the selection results, took over the baton. Seven finalists met at the

"DJ Battle", organized by the radio station "Pilot-FM".

In a word, it can be said about all the participants of the celebration: they only dream of rest. Although no, they don't dream, because they, it seems, are not sleeping at all.
