July 10, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The Union State Day will be held today at the XX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", reports BELTA.

The day will open on July 10 with a meeting of State Secretary Pavel Borodin and allied parliamentarians with veterans of the Great Patriotic War on Victory Square. Here, a joint laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame and the ceremonial handover of buses to representatives of the Velikolechanskoye orphanage and the Senno boarding school, which Pavel Borodin visited last year while participating in the XIX forum events, will also take place.

Representatives of the media will be able to ask the State Secretary all their accumulated questions at a traditional press conference, which will be held at the festival's press center. And there will be plenty to ask about, as over the past two days of the forum, Pavel Borodin has managed to visit SOOO "Marko", the Assumption Cathedral of Vitebsk, the children's rehabilitation and health center (DROTS) "Zhemchuzhina" and two family-type orphanages in the Lepel district, as well as take a walk around the festival city.

The further program of the Union State Day will continue with a meeting with nominees for the Union State Prize in Literature and Art for 2011-2012, a visit by deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly to one of the military units of the Vitebsk garrison, and an evening concert of artists in the Summer Amphitheater, where Pavel Borodin will deliver a welcome speech to the festival and present special diplomas and prizes of the Permanent Committee of the Union State "For the creative embodiment of the ideas of friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Russia" to participants of the creative programs of "Slavianski Bazaar". Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly Commission Alexey Rozuvan will read out a greeting from the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Boris Gryzlov.

However, the work of the Union State representatives at the forum is not limited to this. Thus, on July 13, deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly plan to visit OJSC "Vityaz". In the evening of the same day, the award ceremony for the winners of the XX International Pop Song Performers Contest "Vitebsk-2011" will take place, during which special prizes of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia will be awarded to the best pop song performers from Belarus and Russia. On July 14, the union parliamentarians will be spectators of the gala concert "Land of Wonders" of the IX International Children's Music Contest "Vitebsk-2011", where prizes from Belarus and Russia will also be awarded to the young participants. -0-
