Day of Airborne Forces and Special Operations celebrated in Vitebsk

This year, the Day of the Airborne Forces and Special Operations Forces of the Republic of Belarus (SOF) in the regional center began with the laying of wreaths and flowers at the sculptural composition "Paratroopers of All Generations" in Victory Park.

After the rally, servicemen and their predecessors marched along Kalinin Street and Frunze Avenue to the location of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade. Along the way, they invited everyone to join the celebration and chanted the slogans "VDV is Strength!" and "Glory to Margelov!".

A ceremony was held on the formation's parade ground to award distinguished soldiers, ensigns, and officers with awards and commendations from the local authorities, SOF command, and the brigade. Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, representatives of the city authorities, and the command of the special operations forces and the formation congratulated everyone involved on the holiday.

Following the official part, demonstration performances were held, including those by reconnaissance unit fighters, and several combat episodes were reenacted. For example, the guards unit demonstrated its ability to promptly eliminate an illegal armed formation that had invaded the country.
