Veterans Day may appear at "Slavianski Bazaar"
A Veterans' Day may be introduced at the International Arts Forum "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". This proposal was made to the Minister of Culture, Boris Svetlov, during a personal reception of citizens and a direct line, which he held in Shumilino, BELTA correspondent reports. BELTA.
After communicating with the residents of the district, the minister told journalists that he was pleasantly surprised that the heads of regional structural divisions of veterans' and disabled persons' public organizations had signed up for the reception. They spoke in detail about the activities of their organizations, achievements, and new projects. They expressed gratitude to the local authorities, who support the initiatives of public organizations and help implement new ideas.
"This is my first time in Shumilino, there are kind and sincere people with open hearts here," the minister said.
Boris Svetlov received several proposals from the head of the regional veterans' organization. In particular, the issue of holding a Veterans' Day at the "Slavianski Bazaar" was discussed.
"Next year is special - it is the 70th anniversary of Victory, and it is quite reasonable to hold a Veterans' Day within its framework. Moreover, we have a Youth Day, so perhaps there should be a Day of Winners-Veterans. I will submit this proposal for discussion by the republican organizing committee, which will prepare the next "Slavianski Bazaar," Boris Svetlov noted.
Another proposal that was made at the reception is the creation of a veterans' anthem. According to the minister, this idea also has the right to be implemented, especially since one version of the text already exists - it was handed over to Boris Svetlov by the head of the district veterans' organization.
The head of the family cymbal orchestra, Elena Skorinovа, appealed to the minister with a request for assistance in acquiring cymbals. This request was miraculously fulfilled in just a few hours. During a visit to the modernized building of the Shumilino Children's Art School, the opening of which is planned for September 1, Boris Svetlov presented the institution with cymbals. He noted that the instrument is from the conservatory, and this is a hint that the young participants of the cymbal ensemble and the students of the art school should continue their musical education at this institution.
During his stay in the Shumilino district, Boris Svetlov also visited the "Druzhba" children's health resort, the Lovzhansky rural center of culture and leisure, and the Obol museum of the Komsomol underground.
