The dendropark was founded in Senno

A dendrological park has been laid on the shore of the lake in Senno, which will soon become a landmark of the district center.

As Vasily Cherednik, Chairman of the Senno District Executive Committee, said, the idea of creating a dendrological park in the region had been nurtured since 2014, but they could not decide on a location. As a result, they settled on a wasteland on the lake shore with an interesting landscape. The choice was also supported by residents of nearby private houses. Last year, an asphalt road was laid here, and on the eve of the event, utility workers worked hard, preparing the shoreline.

According to Alexander Izmaylovich, Director of the Bogushevskoye Forestry, the dendrological park currently occupies 1.5 hectares (it will be expanded to 3 hectares in the future), and more than 320 trees and shrubs of native and exotic species have been planted. The immediate plans include the installation of a fence with an entrance arch, three gazebos, and a dozen benches.

Vasily Cherednik, together with Mikhail Vilyugo, Chairman of the Senno District Council of Deputies, heads of enterprises, organizations, representatives of public associations, and schoolchildren participated in planting trees. Viktor Petakovich, Head of the branch of DEU-38 of RUE "Vitebskavtodor", came to the volunteer work day with his young son Daniil. Together they planted four trees – a cherry, two pines, and an oak – corresponding to the number of family members.

So, in the near future, residents and guests of the city will be able to relax in the shade of exotic trees on the shore of their favorite Senno Lake.
