Deputies and industry trade unions will discuss education system issues at a meeting in Polotsk

Deputies and representatives of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers will discuss issues of improving the quality and working conditions of educators today in Polotsk, as reported by the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

A two-day joint field meeting of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Education, Culture and Science and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers will be held at the Polotsk District Executive Committee. The agenda includes interaction between local authorities, education management structures and the industry trade union on developing professional potential and enhancing the status, and improving the economic situation of educators, using the Vitebsk region as an example. The discussion will focus on protecting the interests of employees of all educational institutions, including preschools. The results of improving the country's legislation on ensuring social guarantees for employees of the education system will be considered.

Trade union committees from other regions will share their experience in protecting the socio-economic interests of their members, and trade union committees of educational institutions will talk about their work in dormitories. A cultural and educational program is also prepared for the participants of the meeting, including visits to the Museum of Book Printing, the Holy Euphrosyne Monastery, and the Saint Sophia Cathedral.
