Local council deputies must keep their promises and work more with people - A. Lukashenko
April 27, Petrikov district /Lyudmila Sats - BELTA/. Elected deputies of local councils must fulfill their promises and work more with people. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, communicating today with residents of the Petrikov district of the Gomel region, according to a BELTA correspondent.
"I know that elections were held in almost all constituencies. Normal, capable people have been elected. There are, however, also opposition members," Alexander Lukashenko said.
According to him, this caused some concern among a number of officials. "I tell them: calm down, because the opposition is not monolithic, it is diverse, there are normal people there too," the head of state emphasized. He believes that if people voted for such a person, then they probably know him and trust him.
"There is an opposition, although there are not many of them. They didn't really want to be elected," the President added.
"In general, as far as I am informed, we have elected a normal corps of deputies at all levels," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. -0-
