Deputies of the Vitebsk Regional Council agreed to increase the area of Vitebsk by 3 thousand hectares

Deputies of the Vitebsk Regional Council have agreed to transfer part of the lands of suburban village councils to the administrative subordination of the Vitebsk City Council and the Vitebsk City Executive Committee. The decision was made today at a regular session of the regional council, a BELTA correspondent reports. Thus, the area of the regional center may increase by more than 3 thousand hectares. The acting head of the land management service of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Igor Levenkov, explained to the deputies that this decision is due to the increasing volumes of housing construction in Vitebsk, as well as the demand for individual housing construction. For example, 600 people in the queue would like to build individual housing, and they need land plots for this. At the same time, Igor Levenkov noted that the inclusion of citizens' land plots within the city limits of Vitebsk does not entail the termination of the right to use, the right of lifelong inherited possession of these land plots, and the right of private ownership. -0-
