Deputies of the Vitebsk Regional Council approved the development program for the petrochemical complex until 2015

June 10, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Deputies of the Vitebsk Regional Council at an ordinary session today approved the development program for the region's petrochemical complex until 2015, BELTA correspondent reports. The program is designed to ensure the established parameters of socio-economic development, expand and update the product range, and increase the competitiveness and quality of products of the region's petrochemical enterprises. Its implementation will ensure a growth rate of industrial production in comparable prices in 2015 of at least 126% compared to the 2010 level, and increase the production of consumer goods by 44% over five years. Commenting on the program at the request of a BELTA correspondent, the first deputy chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's economy committee, Svyatoslav Zarovsky, noted that the region's petrochemical complex is represented by 10 industrial enterprises, including the city-forming ones such as Naftan OJSC, Polotsk-Steklovolokno OJSC, and Inviet OJSC. More than 95% of the total output produced by the petrochemical complex enterprises falls on Naftan OJSC. The enterprise is implementing a large-scale modernization and reconstruction program, and this year it plans to commission the Penex low-temperature isomerization unit and the visbreaking unit vacuum block. The enterprise's development program for the period 2010-2015 includes 26 investment projects with a total cost of over $1.4 billion. Its implementation will increase oil processing volume to 12 million tons and bring the processing depth to 93%. Export deliveries of Polotsk-Steklovolokno OJSC account for 90% of the total sales volume. The enterprise's resource capabilities currently allow for the production of about 40 thousand tons of various fiberglass products. The enterprise plans to implement 14 investment projects, which will increase production flexibility for rapid response to market demands. The strategic task of Inviet OJSC for the next five years is to ensure maximum utilization of production capacities and technical re-equipment, which will allow for an additional Br5 billion per year. In 2009, the petrochemical complex enterprises produced industrial products in comparable prices worth Br8.5 trillion, which is 9.9% higher than in 2008. Consumer goods worth Br91.2 billion were produced, or 101% of the 2008 level. -0-
