Paratroopers from Russia and Ukraine celebrate their professional holiday in Vitebsk
August 2, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Paratroopers from Russia and Ukraine are celebrating their professional holiday in Vitebsk. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the 103rd Guards Separate Mobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, on the basis of which the main city celebrations on the occasion of the Day of Paratroopers and Special Operations Forces are taking place today.
Traditionally, on this day, the brigade's territory becomes accessible for visits. The main visitors to the unit are former servicemen, veterans, family members, relatives and close ones of the soldiers currently serving, young people who are yet to serve in the army, and the city's public. Warriors-paratroopers and veterans of the Airborne Forces from other countries also come to congratulate their former comrades-in-arms. This year, the guests of the 103rd Guards Separate Mobile Brigade included holders of blue berets and telnyashkas from Russia and Ukraine.
The festive event began with the performance of the anthem of Belarus, after which the participants of the holiday could enjoy a spectacular program prepared by the servicemen of the brigade. Demonstrations of hand-to-hand combat, parachute jumps from a tower, a parade of military equipment, a display of uniforms from different periods, including modern ones, and other events captivated the audience and evoked genuine delight in the children, who proudly tried on the paratroopers' main headwear and closely followed all that was happening.
In the afternoon, the epicenter of the celebration will be the main concert venue of festival Vitebsk - the Summer Amphitheater. A grand concert will be held here, featuring creative groups of the Vitebsk Culture Center, the 103rd Mobile Brigade, as well as the Honored Collective of the Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
