September 13, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Ten people were rescued this morning from a fire at the finished goods warehouse of the foreign enterprise "Adaost" in Vitebsk. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Marina Fando, press secretary of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The fire broke out on the first floor of the administrative and production building, which housed a warehouse of hosiery products with an area of over 100 sq.m. Combustion products spread through the corridors to the second floor, where the administrative offices are located. As a result, ten company specialists were cut off from the evacuation routes. The situation was complicated by the fact that there were two gas cylinders in the warehouse. The rescue of people was carried out by gas and smoke protection service teams of the Ministry of Emergency Situations units using a fire truck with an aerial ladder and two extendable three-section ladders. Simultaneously, smoke removal and firefighting were carried out. In total, more than 50 rescuers worked to extinguish the fire, 11 units of main and auxiliary equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations units were involved, and five ambulance crews were on duty. As a result of the fire, no one was injured. The company's products were destroyed in the warehouse, and the damage is being assessed. The preliminary cause of the fire is considered to be a violation of fire safety requirements during hot work. An investigation is underway.-0-
