Ten illegal migrants were detained by servicemen of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment in the Braslav district over four days, as reported to BelTA correspondent by Denis Glebko, Assistant Head of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment.
In the evening of November 11, two foreigners were discovered in the Braslav district attempting to illegally cross the state border of Belarus with the EU. On the night of November 12-13, another three illegal foreign nationals attempted a similar crossing. A day later, five more foreign guests of Belarus tried to illegally enter the EU. The connection between the three groups is yet to be determined after investigations. It has been established so far that all of them flew into Minsk and then took a taxi to the Braslav district of the Vitebsk region.
They had passports, a small amount of money, and compasses with them. The oldest of the ten detainees was 48 years old, and the youngest was 22 years old. The offenders paid fines. Since the beginning of the year, 77 border violators have been detained by servicemen of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment.
