More than 20 Red Cross New Year's trees will help fulfill children's wishes in the Vitebsk region

More than 20 New Year trees will help fulfill children's wishes in the Vitebsk region, reported Galina Zhelanova, Chairperson of the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society.
The large-scale "Tree of Wishes" campaign will start in the northern region on December 15 and will last until January 15, 2023. New Year trees will be installed in the cities of the region tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Each of them will be decorated with postcards from children from orphanages, families in socially dangerous situations, as well as large and low-income families. Inside, children will leave wishes of what they want to receive for the New Year. Any caring person can fulfill their dream by leaving a gift for the volunteers. It will be possible to add your own options to the composition. Gifts will be collected until the New Year, and then the surprises will be sent to their young recipients.

For now, 23 New Year trees have been prepared in the region for the marathon of kindness, seven of which will be installed in Vitebsk's retail outlets. In particular, the "Trees of Wishes" of the regional center will be installed in "Grin", "Marko-City", two large "Euroopt" stores on Moskovsky Prospekt, "Evikom", "Gippo" and "Santa". Throughout the region, New Year trees calling to become a wizard will be located in 13 more cities and district centers. Three fir trees will appear in Polotsk at once, one each in Braslav, Verkhnedvinsk, Glubokoye, Lepel, Orsha, Postavy, Senno, Ushachi, Sharkovshchina, and Shumilino. Dokshitsy and Miory are joining the Red Cross's New Year's campaign in the region for the first time.

"We expect that the residents of the region will show great interest in the campaign and become wizards for children who always, and especially during the wonderful New Year holidays, need warmth and care. In total, it is planned that about 1,000 children will receive gifts with the help of the "Trees of Wishes". And the good deeds will not be limited to this campaign," noted Galina Zhelanova. - 47 children from the Luhansk region will arrive in Novopolotsk. They will be presented with tracksuits worth Br8.5 thousand in a solemn ceremony. The Red Cross also pays special attention to these children."

Enterprises and organizations in cities will be able to set up similar trees on their territories at their own discretion.
