A kindergarten in Polotsk is to be built by the end of 2012

The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, has set the task to ensure steady financing of an important social facility and to commission it by the end of the year. Construction is in full swing: the general contractor, construction and installation trust No. 22 of Polotsk, has already organized work in two shifts.

The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Terentyev, held a meeting in Polotsk on the construction of a kindergarten for 200 children with a swimming pool, provided for by the comprehensive program for the city's development.

Last year, we informed our readers about the problem of placing children in preschool institutions, which parents in the rapidly developing Airport microdistrict are facing. Every year, multi-story buildings are commissioned here, mainly occupied by young families. The school built six years ago has been opening six first grades in recent years. In general, there are enough places in Polotsk kindergartens, but not for everyone in their own microdistrict. Sometimes parents have to take their children far from home, which causes great inconvenience. The construction of the long-awaited kindergarten has been delayed due to a lack of funds.

Now, as V. Terentyev explained, the situation has changed. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, has set the task to ensure steady financing of an important social facility and to commission it by the end of the year. This will be done, according to V. Terentyev, without a doubt. All stakeholders are performing their tasks professionally. Construction is in full swing: the general contractor, construction and installation trust No. 22 of Polotsk, has already organized work in two shifts. The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee noted that the birth of children is a joy not only for their parents but also for the entire country, as it is important for Belarusians to improve the demographic situation. Polotsk grows by 900–1000 people annually, and the authorities hope that the introduction of facilities such as the planned kindergarten and maternity hospital will encourage parents to have children. V. Terentyev emphasized that the authorities are aware of the existing problems and will solve them not only in Polotsk but also in other cities of the region as far as possible.

The Chairman of the Polotsk City Executive Committee, Alexander Poznyak, expressed confidence that another kindergarten will be built in the Airport microdistrict, for which a site has already been selected, and design work will begin next year. The city administration strives to ensure that residents feel comfortable not only in the center but also in the outskirts.

The manager of Trust No. 22, Anatoly Konovalov, called the revival of kindergarten construction a gift of fate for the team. Not long ago, the organization's management was planning to send its crews to the Russian Federation. And today, with the guarantee of financing, large volumes of work can be carried out domestically.

The number of employees in the trust decreased from one thousand last year to 770 people. People can only be retained by high earnings. The average salary in the trust is 2.1 million rubles. Highly qualified specialists can earn more. For example, bricklayers use a progressive payment system that depends on the output norm.

– The more you do, the more you get, – confirmed the site manager of SU-14, Alexander Eremyonok. – If there were financing, and we have capable people. They read the blueprints themselves and can perform any job with high quality.

Currently, as A. Konovalov said, the first floor of the kindergarten is being built. 2800 cubic meters of brickwork are planned to be completed in 5.5 months, and the building shell will be handed over by September. Roofing and plastering work must be completed in October. The facility will be commissioned by the New Year. If necessary, the number of people and equipment will be increased. The main condition is rhythmic financing. Builders need to master 3.5 billion rubles every month, and an advance of at least 1.5 billion rubles is needed to purchase materials. So far, out of 25 billion rubles (which is the cost of the kindergarten at current prices), 1.7 billion rubles were allocated and mastered by May 1.
