A child's perspective on eternal themes is presented at the "Christmas Motifs" exhibition in Vitebsk
January 11, Vitebsk / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. Over 350 works are presented at the regional exhibition of children's creativity "Christmas Motifs", which opened today at the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education. Sergei Fadeyenkov, chief specialist of the department for religious and ethnic affairs of the regional executive committee, informed a BELTA correspondent about this.
More than 150 students under the age of 15 from secondary schools, preschool institutions, extracurricular associations, and Sunday schools took part in the formation of the exhibition. The organizers did not limit the imagination and genre of the works, which are united by the theme of Christmas and folk holidays. Christmas stories performed by young authors - works of painting, graphics, decorative and applied arts - are distinguished by sincerity and spontaneity, which are inherent only to young creators. The eternal themes of goodness, nobility, and virtues are sometimes interpreted unexpectedly, while the reflection is carried out in a language of images that is close and understandable to modern children, and makes adults look anew at seemingly familiar truths.
The main goal of the project is to introduce the younger generation to the spiritual values of the Belarusian people, as well as to acquaint the general public with the creativity of children and adolescents from preschool and secondary educational institutions of the city.
The organizers of the exhibition, which will run until January 21, are the departments of culture and education of the regional executive committee, as well as the Vitebsk Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.-0-
