The children's choir "Raduga" from Ushaсhy will perform at an international festival in Moscow
April 13, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The exemplary choir "Raduga" of the children's art school of the urban settlement of Ushachi (Vitebsk region) will represent Belarus at the III International Festival of Choral Ensembles "We Sing to You, Moscow!", which will be held in the Russian capital from April 23 to 26, 2009. The head of the choir, Zhanna Savitskaya, informed a BELTA correspondent about this.
The young choir will take part in a festival of this scale for the first time, which will be a serious creative challenge for the young musicians. The opening and closing concerts of the song forum will take place on world-renowned stages - in the concert halls of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. "Performing on such stages is always very exciting, but we will try to live up to the expectations placed on us," noted Zhanna Savitskaya. The Ushachi choir is going to Moscow at the invitation of the prefecture of the Northern Administrative District of Moscow, which is the organizer of the festival and with which the Vitebsk region has a cooperation agreement.
The festival is dedicated to the works of Russian composers celebrating anniversaries in 2009 - M. Glinka, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, M. Mussorgsky, M. Ippolitov-Ivanov, A. Grechaninov, and R. Gliere. In addition to the works of Russian classical choral music composers, the Ushachi musicians will bring to Moscow an extensive repertoire of Belarusian folk songs, the famous "Belovezhskaya Pushcha," as well as works on the theme of the Great Patriotic War. The festival program also includes "friendship concerts" in Moscow ensembles, as well as a round table for choir leaders. "I hope that participating in the festival will give our ensemble tremendous performance experience, bring a lot of impressions, and help us establish new creative contacts," added Zhanna Savitskaya.
The exemplary choir "Raduga" of the children's art school of the urban settlement of Ushachi was founded in 2001. The main composition of the choir consists of children aged 11-15 from the choral and piano departments of the school. Despite their young age, the ensemble has achieved success in concert activities. The choir is a laureate of the II Belarusian Festival "Belarus is My Song" and has repeatedly been recognized among the best in competitions of children's choral ensembles of the Vitebsk region. The main repertoire of the choir includes works by classical composers, arrangements of folk songs, spiritual music, as well as works written for children and youth.
The main objectives of the international festival of choral music "We Sing to You, Moscow!" are to promote artistic education and aesthetic upbringing of children and youth, to popularize choral art through the best examples of classical and folk music, to improve performing skills and develop children's creative abilities, as well as to develop creative contacts between choral ensembles of Russia and other countries. The festival is attended by choral ensembles from the instrumental and choral departments of children's music schools, children's art schools, and children's art schools. -0-
