The director of an Orsha enterprise embezzled Br500 million of targeted credit for debts on other loans

The director of one of the agricultural enterprises in the Orsha district embezzled Br500 million of targeted credit to pay off debts on other loans, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Department's Economic Crimes Unit (UBEP) informed a BELTA correspondent. Abusing his official position, the 59-year-old manager misappropriated the state targeted credit. Instead of paying for the received mixed feed, he used the money to settle debts with banks where his enterprise had outstanding loans. The illegal actions of the enterprise director were established during an inspection by the Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee for the Vitebsk region. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 2 of Article 237 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, which provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment. An investigation is underway. -0-
