Director of a Vitebsk advertising firm caught in financial fraud
The director of an advertising firm from Vitebsk was caught in financial fraud, the UDFFR of the State Control Committee for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. In the period from 2006 to 2011, the head of a private company in the regional center provided advertising services to clients, intentionally not recording the acts of completed work in accounting records, which led to an understatement of the revenue received. In the same way, the man carried out transactions for the sale of a company apartment and a car. The damage caused by his actions is estimated at more than Br140 million.
For tax evasion, resulting in damage on a particularly large scale, a criminal case has been initiated against the director by the Zheleznodorozhny District Department of the Investigative Committee of Belarus under Part 2 of Article 243 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which provides for up to seven years of imprisonment. Earlier, the chief accountant of the same firm also came to the attention of law enforcement agencies, and a criminal case has been initiated against her for extracting a loan under Part 1 of Article 237 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
In 2011, being an official, she provided one of the city's commercial banks with information on the company's balance sheet with an understated amount of accounts payable, which allowed the firm to illegally obtain Br185 million for development. She faces up to three years of imprisonment.
