The director of a commercial entity in the Lepel district intentionally caused his enterprise a loss of almost Br38 million, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Department's Economic Crimes Control Department informed a BELTA correspondent. In 2010, the head of a garment factory concluded a major contract for the execution of an order using customer-supplied materials. After that, intentionally, using his official position, he instructed his subordinates to price the work performed below cost, and appropriated the difference of almost Br38 million for himself. A criminal case has been initiated against the man for abuse of official powers under Part 3 of Article 424 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, which provides for up to ten years of imprisonment with possible confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions.
