Alexander Sidorenko has become the Director of "Slavyansky Bazaar". This was announced at a press conference dedicated to the organization and holding of the XXII International Arts Forum "Slavyansky Bazaar in Vitebsk" by the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Belarus Vladimir Karachevsky, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

Alexander Sidorenko took over as head of the "Vitebsk" Cultural Center after Rodion Bass submitted his resignation. Prior to this, Alexander Sidorenko was the First Deputy General Director of the "Vitebsk" Cultural Center, and worked in the culture department of the regional executive committee and the city executive committee. Today, Alexander Sidorenko was introduced to journalists as the director of the "Slavyansky Bazaar" festival directorate.

"This year is challenging for the festival. Its format is changing. The forum will be held over a shorter period – from July 11 to 15. The emphasis is on the quality of the festival events. By agreement with the ministries of culture of the founding countries, the XXII International Arts Festival will not feature Days of Culture of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. The Day of the Union State will be held in a new way. A large program, which will take place in the evening at the Summer Amphitheater, is called "Concert of Friendship. The Union State Invites...", and it is planned to feature artists from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Latvia, and Lithuania," informed Vladimir Karachevsky.

He also emphasized that this year special attention will be paid to the organization of television broadcasts and recordings of concert programs. "The President of Belarus has set the organizing committee the task of making the Vitebsk forum interesting not only for the direct participants and spectators who will attend the concerts, but also for the television audience in different countries around the world," said Vladimir Karachevsky.
