Lengthy prison sentences threaten seven Orsha residents for the group rape of a minor

Long prison terms threaten seven residents of Orsha for gang rape of a minor, senior investigator for particularly important cases of the investigative department of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office Sergei Savchenko told a BELTA correspondent. The reason for the crime was a quarrel between two seventeen-year-old friends. Having exhausted verbal arguments to resolve the conflict, the girls fought. For the torn clumps of hair and scratched face, one of them promised revenge. Literally a month later, she gathered a company: her acquaintance and five guys aged 17 to 28. By deception, they lured the offender out of the apartment late in the evening. In the stairwell, the girl was grabbed, her mouth was covered, and then she was taken out of the city in a minivan to a deserted country road. First, her former friends beat her, and then the young men raped her. After the "punishment," the victim was nevertheless brought back to the city and left near her home after preliminary intimidation and threats against her entire family. The mother of the victim reported the incident to law enforcement agencies. It was not difficult to identify all the participants in the crime. Now, a criminal case has been initiated against the young men from the criminal group for kidnapping and rape of a minor by a group of persons, and against the girls - for kidnapping and organizing the crime. The punishment provided for by the Criminal Code of Belarus for these actions is up to 15 years of imprisonment. The criminal case has been transferred to the court of the Orsha district and the city of Orsha. -0-
