A Polotsk resident received a long prison sentence for the murder of his wife's lover

A Polotsk resident has been sentenced to a long prison term for the murder of his wife's lover, Dmitry Orekhva, prosecutor of the department for supervision of the legality of court decisions in criminal cases and analysis of judicial practice of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, told a BELTA correspondent. For a long time, a middle-aged lady from Polotsk managed to successfully hide her extramarital affair from her husband. However, a ridiculous twist of fate not only destroyed her idyll but also deprived two men at once. So, while visiting a local market, where the woman was choosing slippers for her lover, the couple accidentally ran into her lawful husband. Looking at the tender relationship between the two lovers, the man immediately realized his additional status and, in a fit of rage, hit his wife, after which he left. The contender for the woman's heart, bound by marital ties, desired revenge and followed them to sort things out. By the time of the meeting, which was not without a fight, both men turned out to be drunk. The lover turned out to be defeated in their duel, having received about 20 injuries of varying severity. He died on the spot. The lawful husband immediately went to celebrate his victory in a nearby bar, where he was detained by law enforcement officers. For the murder, the 48-year-old resident of Polotsk was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. The sentence has entered into legal force. -0-
