Days of the Vitebsk region in Saxony are planned to be held in April 2010

Days of the Vitebsk region in Saxony (Leipzig, Germany) are planned to be held in April 2010, the general director of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Valery Butkevich, told a BELTA correspondent. The main event will be a presentation of the economic opportunities of Vitebsk and the Vitebsk region, as well as investment projects offered for implementation with the participation of German capital. During the event, it is planned to hold a business forum for Vitebsk and German enterprises interested in cooperation, with the support of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Northern Saxony. More than 60 enterprises and business structures from Saxony and a number of other regions of Germany have already shown interest in participating in the business program of the forum, Valery Butkevich noted. It is planned to organize meetings between the leaders of the Vitebsk region and Leipzig, as well as business contacts of the region's delegation with the management of the Leipzig Trade Fair and the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Work is currently underway to detail the program for the Days of the Vitebsk region in Saxony and to form the delegation of the Belarusian region. In addition, an agreement has already been reached on a return visit of German business circles to the Vitebsk region to continue negotiations, discuss promising areas of cooperation and strengthen contacts established during the presentation of the Belarusian region in Saxony. The visit of the German delegation to the Vitebsk region is planned for the summer of this year. The organizers of the event are the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Representative Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany. -0-
