A robber from Verkhnedvinsk faces up to 10 years in prison for stealing a pack of cigarettes and a baseball cap

A long prison sentence threatens a resident of Verkhnedvinsk for stealing a pack of cigarettes and a baseball cap, investigator-criminalist of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office Vladimir Baidanov told a BELTA correspondent. The robbery attack on an unemployed 58-year-old man was committed by a worker of a local construction company. Threatening with a knife, the young man demanded to give him a pack of cigarettes and a cap he liked, and then fled. However, he was soon detained by police officers. A criminal case has been initiated against the attacker under Part 1 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code of Belarus for robbery with the use of violence dangerous to health. Now, for Br1.7 thousand - the cost of the stolen items - the guy faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.-0-
