The share of renewable energy sources in Belarus's fuel balance should be at least 22% by the end of 2011

This was stated today by Leonid Shenets, Director of the Department for Energy Efficiency of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus, at the international exhibition-conference "Energy-Saving Technologies, Equipment and Materials" in Vitebsk, BELTA correspondent reports. The task is very difficult, emphasized Leonid Shenets. To fulfill it, in particular, it will be necessary to master the production of brown coal, the explored reserves of which are estimated at 250 million tons with a calorific value of not less than 3.8-4 thousand kcal. The Director of the Department also reported that in 2011, the task of reducing the energy intensity of GDP by at least 6-7% should be completed. -0-
