This was announced today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets, during his visit to the exhibition of new products of industrial enterprises of the Vitebsk region, organized at the OJSC "Vityaz". "This is a good figure. However, we still have huge reserves for improving our work, and they must be utilized," the head of the region is confident. In particular, enterprises need to more actively establish partnerships with each other, respond more promptly and flexibly to market needs, and continuously study customer demand. Serious tasks face the region's industrial enterprises for 2011-2015. During this period, they must double their output, paying special attention to the development of new types, and reducing energy and material intensity. In this regard, design bureaus will have to work particularly intensively. "A significant obstacle to achieving this goal may be the high wear and tear of the enterprises' fixed assets, which reaches up to 90%. Therefore, re-equipment must be carried out as soon as possible: by 2011-2012, this indicator should be reduced to 50%," emphasized the chairman of the regional executive committee. Alexander Kosinets also drew attention to the need to develop a regional program "Household Appliances". "We can produce most types of this competitive product ourselves, thereby reducing its import," he believes. During the event, an award ceremony was held for the best designers of the region's enterprises. Specialists from the Vistan, Izmeritel, Vitebsk Tractor Parts Plant, and Automatic Control Devices Plant (Orsha) were recognized for their achievements. -0-
