An official of one of Orsha's open joint-stock companies is suspected of major production volume falsification
An official of one of the Orsha processing industry enterprises is suspected of major falsification of production volumes, BELTA was informed by the information and public relations department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Employees of the economic crime control department of the criminal police of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs have identified an official of a open joint-stock company who, from May to December 2010, in order to meet indicators for production growth rates and to avoid disciplinary action, organized the formal mutual supply of products with other enterprises of the region without its actual acceptance. As a result of these actions, production volumes of the enterprise were falsified by Br20.2 billion, which amounted to 19.8% of the total output of the open joint-stock company for 2010. In addition, unjustified transportation costs for the delivery and shipment of products in the amount of over Br234 million were incurred.
Another motive for the official's actions was mercenary: his " ударный" (shock) work was directly related to receiving incentive payments for meeting indicators, as well as an increase in his official salary. Unjustified monetary incentive payments and salary increases for fictitious work amounted to about Br279 million. The material damage caused to the enterprise is estimated at over Br500 million.
A criminal case has been initiated against the official under Part 3 of Article 424 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (abuse of power or official authority), which is currently being investigated by the Investigative Committee. The sanction of the specified article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to ten years with or without confiscation of property and with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities.
