Roads, public transport, housing and communal services: Anatoly Linevich held a direct telephone line in Vitebsk

Questions about the condition of roads in the city, hot water supply, and public transport operation were considered during a direct phone line in the Pervomaysky district of Vitebsk by the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Anatoly Linevich.

A motorist from Vitebsk expressed wishes regarding some roads in the regional center where there are shortcomings. Also, near sports facilities, there are pedestrian crossings in "blind" spots at turns: the Vitebsk resident clarified whether they could be relocated. The President's Aide instructed to put the problematic road in order, and the pedestrian crossings need to be dealt with together with the State Automobile Inspectorate.

A Vitebsk resident spoke about a pack of dogs in the private sector, which the woman with a child cannot pass by. She contacted the enterprise "Spetsavtobaza," which is responsible for catching dogs; its employees went to the site and could not remove the stray animals. The problem remained unresolved. Anatoly Linevich instructed the leadership of the district administration to deal with the oversight.

A resident of the Bilevo microdistrict contacted the President's Aide directly with a public transport problem: one of the routes she uses to get to work in another microdistrict has been canceled. The heaviest traffic on this route occurs from September to May, and the applicant asks to bring the bus back at least for this period. The President's Aide instructed to analyze passenger traffic and the feasibility of returning the route, especially if there is a need at a certain time of year.

A Vitebsk resident living on Chernyakhovsky Avenue was interested in why warm water was flowing from the tap in a house where hot water supply is not supposed to be shut off according to the schedule. Representatives of the district administration present at the direct line explained that pumps were being replaced in that area. Anatoly Linevich noted that similar calls are received when utility services do not notify the public and instructed to monitor such cases.

The acquisition of social housing, tiling of sidewalks – these issues were also taken under control by the Aide to the President. In addition, Anatoly Linevich emphasized that special attention will be paid to the problems voiced by the residents of Pervomaisky District during a personal reception with the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, which she held at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee at the end of last week.

"To solve problems and ensure clear execution, one must understand how people live in their circumstances. Do as you would for yourself – this approach should be applied to every problem. As for Pervomaisky District of Vitebsk, the main issues raised by citizens concerned housing and communal services and landscaping, including roads. Many issues are resolved promptly, locally, but not always to the extent that satisfies people. For this, it is necessary to meet with the population more often, learn about their needs, and preempt appeals to local authorities," – the Aide to the President summarized the results of the direct telephone line.

Anatoly Linevich also communicated with representatives of the district administration, discussing development prospects, including economic ones. One of the areas that could be pursued here is furniture production, especially since there is material for it in the Vitebsk region. As noted at one of the recent meetings by the head of state, new production facilities should be opened in regional centers not only to boost the economy but also to increase the volume of import-substituting products.

"It is not necessary to open fundamentally new enterprises. One can return to what was before. If production existed but did not generate profit, then the issue lies with the head of the enterprise. More careful attention should be paid to managerial staff. In the Vitebsk region, furniture production could be established. Yes, there is competition, but it should not be feared. One can engage not in the full production cycle, but in parts of it, occupy a niche in components, and bring them to the domestic market," – the Aide to the President expressed his opinion.
