Ancient Polotsk on its 1147th anniversary will become a "Dancing City"

May 13, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Ancient Polotsk, on the day of its 1147th anniversary, will turn into a young dancing city. The open competition of entertainment song and dance "Dancing City" has started, the project organizer Svetlana Bogoslav told a BELTA correspondent. Amateur authors and dancers are invited to participate in the competition - everyone over 14 years old, who creates for their own joy and for the joy of others, and is brave enough to submit their creation to the strict but fair judgment of the audience. Musicians and performers, according to the competition rules, present dance songs or music, and dancers present original choreographies. According to Svetlana Bogoslav, the project organizers are not afraid of trendy youth movements and are holding the competition precisely to discover new names. The finalists of the competition will take part in the "Dancing City" show, which will be held on the night of May 30-31. Here, the winners in two nominations - "Best Song" and "Best Dance" - will be announced. The idea of the competition belongs to pop musician Sergey Khomyakov (Alenu). The founders of the competition are the culture department of the Polotsk City Executive Committee, the Polotsk City Palace of Culture, and local patrons. Svetlana Bogoslav added that the "Dancing City" project will be the beginning of the Polotsk Street Dance Festival. The organizers are already making plans for its holding next year. -0-
