Friendliness and openness unite the participants of the "Vitebsk-2009" song contest

July 7, Minsk / Yekaterina Sidelova - BELTA /. Despite the huge competition, the relations between the participants of the International Pop Song Performers Contest "Vitebsk-2009" are warm and friendly. This common opinion of the contestants was expressed in a conversation with a BELTA correspondent by Kristina Zakharova, a representative of Latvia. "Talented and professional performers have come to the contest. Each of them has a unique voice. For now, we are all getting acquainted, communicating and having a good time," said the Latvian performer. Representatives of 17 countries have gathered in Minsk to rehearse their acts with the National Concert Orchestra of Belarus. Many of them have not had such an experience before, but all participants are satisfied and speak positively about their work with the People's Artist of Belarus, Professor Mikhail Finberg. "Working with the orchestra is very interesting and not difficult at all. When you sing to a ready-made backing track, no one will help you if you don't have enough air, or if something else happens. But when performing with an orchestra, the conductor, seeing that your breathing is off or something is wrong, can always slow down the tempo or speed it up," shared Pavel Parfeniy, who will represent Moldova at the contest. Some contestants, in addition to songs in their native language, will present compositions in Russian. Vlado Dimov from Bulgaria will perform Igor Kornelyuk's song "The City That Doesn't Exist," Pavel Parfeniy from Moldova will perform a song from Alla Pugacheva's repertoire "A Candle Was Burning on the Table," and Brazilian performer Roger Ricco will sing Alexey Goman's song "One-Way Ticket." "It's a bit difficult for me to sing in Russian, as it's a difficult language. I had only one month to learn the lyrics. Then three people corrected my pronunciation, and you will be able to hear the result at the contest," said Roger Ricco. As is known, in the current contest of young performers at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," out of 17 participants, there are only 3 female representatives. The female contestants themselves are happy about this turn of events. But the guys are not. "It's not very good for the men, because the competition among us has increased as never before. But I am confident in myself. I have a lot of performance experience, and I hope that my songs will be liked by the audience and the jury," commented Vlatko Lozanoski, a contestant from Macedonia. The last joint rehearsal of the participants of the International Pop Song Performers Contest "Vitebsk-2009" will take place on the Vitebsk stage.-0-
