The Dubrovno Flax Mill is the first in the Vitebsk region to complete flax pulling

This year, the enterprise sowed flax on 1.9 thousand hectares, increasing the sown areas by about 5% compared to 2008. As of today, flax has been pulled from 1.8 thousand hectares, with a yield of about 10 centners per hectare. In total, the flax mill has procured 770 tons of flax straw (almost 260 tons in terms of flax fiber) with an average grade of 1.12, or 15% of the state order for raw materials. The flax harvesting machinery fleet of Dubrovno Flax Mill was replenished this year with over 20 units of imported self-propelled windrowers, balers, and flax pullers. This will enable the enterprise not only to reduce the flax harvesting time but also to obtain higher quality raw materials for subsequent processing, emphasized the director of the flax mill. According to the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, flax has been pulled from an area of over 21 thousand hectares in the region, which is about 92% of the area to be harvested. Almost 3 thousand tons of flax straw have been procured (1 thousand tons in terms of flax fiber) with an average grade of 1, or 8.5% of the state order. A total of 80 farms are engaged in flax cultivation in the region, including 20 flax mills. OAO "Dubrovno Flax Mill" was established in 1997 by transforming the state enterprise of the same name, with a state ownership share of 95.6% in the authorized fund. The main activity is the production of flax fiber. Dubrovno Flax Mill produces almost 17% of the total flax fiber output in the region, including over 27% of long fiber. The enterprise supplies about 80% of its flax fiber to RUPTP "Orsha Flax Combine"; the remaining fiber is used for the production of technical products (twine, flax wadding). In 2008, the enterprise installed a line for the production of long flax fiber from the Belgian company Van Dommele with a design capacity of processing 2 tons of flax straw per hour. -0-
