Two people were injured in the collapse of a farm roof in the Horadok district
February 7, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. Two people were injured when the roof of a livestock farm collapsed in the Gorodok district, Marina Fando, press secretary of the Vitebsk regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, told a BELTA correspondent.
The incident occurred last weekend at the "Polovsky" agricultural production cooperative in the village of Polovo. The injured man and woman, a driver and a foreman, were pulled out from under the collapsed structures by the farm workers themselves. They were hospitalized at the Gorodok Central District Hospital with bruises and broken ribs.
As established during the investigation, the collapse occurred during the unloading of compound feed at the farm. The driver misjudged the dimensions of the vehicle when entering the vestibule and hit a load-bearing beam of the ceiling of the agricultural building.
At the time of the collapse, there were 120 cows in the barn. The animals were not injured and were moved to a nearby farm.
More than 20 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the agricultural enterprise worked at the scene, and five units of equipment were involved in dismantling the collapsed structures and reinforcing the ceiling. -0-
