Two people drowned in reservoirs in the Vitebsk region last week

March 28, Vitebsk / Sergei Kochetov - BELTA /. Two people drowned in rivers in the Vitebsk region over the past week, Vyacheslav Vanenok, a leading specialist of the regional organization of the OSOVOD, told a BELTA correspondent. In both cases, the tragedies occurred on small rivers, and the deceased themselves were intoxicated. Thus, in the village of Kislyachi, Miory district, a 36-year-old tractor driver of a local agricultural enterprise was crossing the Voltas river on a homemade bridge and drowned as a result of falling into the water. In Dubrovno, an employee of the district consumer services enterprise did not return home after work, and the next day his body was found in the Zadubrovlenka river, which flows through the town. It was established that the 49-year-old man drowned while crossing the river. According to operational data, four people have drowned in the region since the beginning of the year, including one elderly woman who fell into a well. OSOVO D specialists remind about the dangers of spring ice and the need to observe water safety rules, which prohibit going out on the ice during its intensive melting period. During the spring school holidays, parents should pay increased attention to children, eliminating the possibility of them going out on the ice, as well as prohibiting games and spending time near water bodies that are not yet free of ice cover. -0-
