May 24, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Two dozen new white and blue trolleybuses will run on the city routes of Vitebsk on the eve of the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Vasily Pavlyuchkov, head of the unitary transport enterprise "Vitebsk Tram and Trolleybus Administration". The electric transport produced by OJSC "Belkommunmash" will be supplied under a leasing agreement. The first two trolleybuses have already hit the lines and are operating during peak hours. Their distinctive features are modern design, increased comfort and electrical safety, and low energy consumption compared to previous models. It is expected that by the beginning of July, the trolleybus fleet will receive the remaining 18 vehicles. According to Vasily Pavlyuchkov, the new equipment will replace old, worn-out trolleybuses. The renewal of the fleet is an integral part of the work to improve the quality and culture of passenger service, he emphasized. For now, there are no plans to increase the number of routes or the number of vehicles on the lines in the regional center: 74 trolleybuses will continue to run on the city streets daily. -0-
