Two new museums will appear in Vitebsk in the coming years
Two new museums will appear in Vitebsk in the coming years. This was announced today at the opening of the international educational, cultural and entertainment conference "Art-Limud Belarus" by Vladimir Terentyev, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, according to a BELTA correspondent.
Design and estimate documentation for the creation of a separate museum dedicated to the outstanding master Yehuda Pen has already been ordered. In addition, the building of the former Vitebsk People's Art School, where Marc Chagall worked, is currently being restored in the city. It is planned to complete construction work on this facility by the end of the year. A museum is also planned to be created here subsequently.
"A lot is being done to ensure that our heritage is truly common not only yesterday, but also today and tomorrow. As they say, there is no future without the past. We remember our past, and therefore we have both a present and a future," concluded Vladimir Terentyev.
The international educational, cultural and entertainment conference "Art-Limud Belarus", dedicated to creativity, culture and art, is being held in Vitebsk from May 31 to June 2. Among its participants are about 500 people from all regions of Belarus, as well as from Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Israel, Lithuania, the USA and other countries. The project is being held in Belarus for the first time as part of the international educational project "Limud-CIS" for Jewish Russian-speaking youth living in the former USSR.
The general partner of the conference is the Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities. Partners also include the Embassy of the State of Israel in Belarus, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, the representative office of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee "JOINT" in Belarus, the Religious Association of Communities of Progressive Judaism in Belarus, etc.
