Утром 24 мая 31-летняя гражданка России за рулем автомобиля Mitsubishi ASX, двигаясь по 188-у км автодороги Витебск – Гомель - граница Украины, выехала на полосу встречного движения, где совершила столкновение с автомобилем BMW 735 под управлением 35-летнего водителя. В результате ДТП оба водителя получили телесные повреждения. Произошло возгорание BMW 735 , и находящиеся внутри пассажиры, 50 и 52-летний жители Могилевской области, скончались на месте, добавил временно исполняющий обязанности начальника отделения информации и общественных связей УВД Витебского облисполкома Александр Казючиц.
Commenting on the current situation, Inna Gorbacheva noted: "Based on the fact of the road traffic accident, the Orsha inter-district department of the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 317 (violation of traffic rules or vehicle operation, resulting in the death of two persons by negligence). Investigators, in cooperation with police officers and specialists from the State Committee of Forensic Examinations, continue to work at the scene of the incident: they ensure traffic safety, take all possible measures to preserve and document the material evidence of the incident, conduct inspections, search for and interview witnesses, obtain necessary information about the persons killed in the road traffic accident and driving the vehicles, and order the necessary expert examinations."
According to the official representative of the Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk Region, Anna Baryshnikova, specialists of the department have already been tasked with conducting a forensic automotive examination, which is necessary to establish the circumstances of the road traffic accident. By analyzing the technical condition of the vehicles, establishing possible causes of technical malfunctions of parts, units, and assemblies of the vehicles involved in the accident, as well as determining the presence or absence of a connection between the violations of traffic rules by the participants of the incident and the resulting consequences of the accident, specialists will draw conclusions that will contribute to establishing the true causes and perpetrators of the tragedy during the investigation.-0-
