Two events can enter the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" book of records

Two events of the International Arts Festival are vying for a place in the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" Book of Records. This was announced by the forum's director, Alexander Sidorenko.

One of them is a large-scale exhibition of stage puppets, which will be presented by the Belarusian Puppet Theatre "Lyalka" as part of the "Puppet Quarter". This project turns five years old this year. The small anniversary is to be celebrated with a large exhibition.

The second nominee is drummers playing Brazilian rhythms, who will measure the festival streets in steps and beats. A combined group of 80 people from Minsk, St. Petersburg, and Moscow will walk around the city, converting all processions into a number of steps.

As explained by Vlada Tsiviki, curator of the "Festival of Street Art 'On Seven Winds'", the initiator of the idea was the first and only school of carnival samba and Brazilian drums in Belarus, "Raccoon Batucada", which participated in "Slavianski Bazaar – 2017" and performed in heavy rain. The group members shared their enthusiastic impressions, and this year representatives from other cities joined the Minsk residents.

Alexander Sidorenko does not rule out that other contenders for festival records may emerge. For now, preparations for "Slavianski Bazaar" have entered the final phase.

Equipment is being installed in the Summer Amphitheatre, including a new digital mixing console, which, according to specialists, will ensure the fulfillment of technical requirements of foreign, Russian, and Belarusian artists and will bring the festival to a modern professional technical level.
