Two buildings in Vitebsk sold at auction for small business development

Two buildings constructed before 1917 were sold today at an auction organized by the Vitebsk Regional Property Committee to representatives of small businesses, who intend to use the real estate for production development, the committee reported.

Both structures are located next to each other, not far from the Vitebsk railway station and KTUP "Polotsky Market" in the area of the "Polotsky" overpass. They were sold as two lots with a starting price of one base value each. A total of nine buyers competed for them.

An administrative building with a garage and engineering communications, with an area of over 1 thousand sq.m, was sold at the 59th step of the auctioneer, when the price increased 429 times and amounted to more than Br42 thousand. The winner was Vitebsk LLC "VelesAgroGaspodar", which specializes in the repair and computer diagnostics of agricultural machinery and equipment.

According to the company's representative, the real estate is planned to be used for the expansion of production activities, which will allow for the creation of up to 15 additional jobs. The second lot - a workshop building with an area of almost 215 sq.m - was acquired by a local individual entrepreneur for almost Br6 thousand, also as a result of fierce competition (at the 45th step). He rents part of the building on this site for furniture production. By acquiring the property, the entrepreneur expects to minimize rental-related risks, as well as expand the range of manufactured products, including those made of solid wood, and master metalworking operations.

In total, since the beginning of the year, more than 40 real estate objects have been sold at the auctions of the Vitebsk Regional Property Committee for about Br1.1 million.
