Two renovated operating rooms have opened at the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital
– The commissioning of these facilities marks the beginning of the five-year plan for quality announced by the head of state, – noted the chief physician of the Regional Clinical Hospital, Evgeny Matusevich. – And this is very important because quality is the most crucial aspect of providing medical care. The modernization and equipping of the operating rooms will allow for a higher level of medical care. They will be operational literally from tomorrow.
The multifunctional operating rooms allow multiple teams of specialists to work simultaneously if, for example, a patient with multiple injuries is admitted and there is a need to involve traumatologists, surgeons, neurosurgeons, and ophthalmologists. The Regional Hospital has a full staff of such specialists.
– A city center for patients with severe combined injuries has been established at our institution, – noted the chief physician. – The most complex and severe cases are hospitalized at the Regional Hospital, where emergency care is provided, including resuscitation measures if necessary, and then they are transferred to the inpatient department.
Prior to this, the aforementioned operating rooms had not been in use for several years after being utilized for patients of this profile during the COVID-19 pandemic, as explained by Evgeny Matusevich. The modernization was completed in four months. 410 thousand rubles were spent on repairs and equipment acquisition.
