Two surveyors from Novopolotsk sentenced to three years in prison for bribery
November 12, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Two employees of the Novopolotsk Geodetic Party of the Vitebsk Department of Engineering Surveys of UP "Geoservice" have been sentenced to three years of imprisonment for bribery and official forgery, Dmitry Kostogryzov, prosecutor of the department for supervision of the legality of court decisions in criminal cases and analysis of judicial practice of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, told a BELTA correspondent.
For several years, the head of the service, born in 1957, and his 35-year-old subordinate, acting in collusion, accepted illegal remuneration from individual developers from Braslavsky, Miorsky, Postavsky and other districts of the region for carrying out surveys and technical documentation necessary for the gasification of houses. On average, it ranged from Br200 thousand to Br2 million. It was not difficult to persuade people to enter into dubious deals: the surveyors promised to complete all the necessary work in the shortest possible time and at the most attractive prices. Thus, in the last case, on which they were caught, the estimated cost of work by entering false information was reduced from Br3.6 million to Br359 thousand. At the same time, for their services, the enterprising dealers received $100 and 20 thousand Russian rubles.
Currently, the manipulators are already serving their sentences. -0-
