Two nature lovers will pay a large fine for appropriating catch from prohibited fishing gear, Dmitry Orekhva, prosecutor of the department for supervision of legality of court decisions in criminal cases and analysis of judicial practice of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, told a BELTA correspondent. While relaxing on Lake Karteya in the Sharkovshchinsky district, two men accidentally discovered 12 tench, three pike, and three roach in nets. Without much thought, the fishing enthusiasts loaded their catch into the car and drove off to divide it. However, their rosy dreams were dispelled by law enforcement and environmental protection officers who were on patrol at the time. The lovers of "easy bread" did not manage to escape responsibility, as their actions were recorded on video. Now, for appropriating the fish, they will have to pay a fine of Br6 million, as well as compensate for Br3 million in damages caused to nature. -0-
