This was announced today at a press conference by the head of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk region, Vladimir Shalukhin, BELTA correspondent reports. Two residents of the regional center, having gained unauthorized access to the Internet resource, changed the passwords and access codes of several website users, and then managed their personal accounts for some time. A criminal case has been initiated against these persons by the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk region under Part 2 of Article 351 of the Criminal Code of Belarus ("Computer sabotage associated with unauthorized access to a computer system or network or resulting in grave consequences"), which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to ten years. An investigation is underway. In total, since the beginning of the year, 6 criminal cases in the field of high technologies have been initiated in the region. They are related to computer sabotage, unauthorized access to computer information, and the distribution of pornographic materials, Vladimir Shalukhin added. -0-
