Jeep festival "Zhara-2015" invites on July 24-26 to Senno district

Джип-фестиваль "Жара-2015" приглашает 24-26 июля в Сенненский район

The jeep festival with elements of a trophy raid "Zhara-2015" will bring together over 200 participants from Belarus and Russia. As reported by the organizers, the republican GPS-orientation competition will be held from July 24 to 26 in the Senno district (Vitebsk region).

The jeep festival is being organized in the Vitebsk region for the third time. Traditionally, well-known athletes from our country, such as Artur Tumanov, Grigory Panasyuk, and others, take part in it. The event program includes overcoming off-road terrain in all-wheel-drive vehicles and ATVs (trophy raid). "Passing some sections of the route, including special stages, requires high technical capabilities and thorough preparation of participants. Therefore, vehicles are usually prepared for competitions in special workshops or independently. Speeds on the trophy raid route are not high, so the main attention is paid to the reliability of the equipment," the organizers noted.

The main competitive factor of the trophy raid is reaching GPS points within a specified time frame (7-hour limit). Participants independently record their progress along the route using a digital camera – at specific locations (GPS points), they take a photo that must show the vehicle with its starting number, a crew member, and a "unique object" (this could be a stone, tree, stump, etc., with an identification mark applied).

Spectator zones are provided on the route, where anyone can watch the vehicles pass through special stages (sections of the route laid through off-road terrain, with a control time for completion).

The program includes not only the competition part but also an evening show program. The competition will start on July 25 at 10:00 AM, and the awards ceremony for the winners will take place on July 26 at 12:00 PM.

The event is organized by the Belarusian off-road "JEEP-CLUB" with the support of the Vitebsk club "Severny Rubezh".
